Hands down, sunscreen is an important part of your skin-care routine. Not only does it help protect your skin against health issues like melanoma, but also, prevents premature aging and hyperpigmentation. For me, sunscreen is as imperative as brushing my teeth in the morning, especially if you want to see results and progress from your skin-care routine.

However, finding the right sunscreen is one of the biggest challenges. Some leave a white cast, some break you out, some have a weird texture, some burn your eyes like the depths of hell, some don't have the protection you want, some hurt the environment, and some don't play well with other products. That is until Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare came out with their All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30.

When I found out one of my favorite skin-care brands came out with a physical sunscreen that does not leave a white cast on my brown skin, I knew I had to try this out. The Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Suncreen SPF 30 ($42) is one of the best purely physical/mineral sunscreens I have ever used. It contains 16 percent of non-nano zinc oxide, vitamins C and E, and sea buckthorn. All of these ingredients work together to protect your skin against UV damage and fight free radicals, preventing premature aging and hyperpigmentation. This sunscreen is vegan, cruelty-free, reef safe, and clean at Sephora and comes in recyclable packaging.

The Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Suncreen SPF 30 ($42) has a lightweight consistency that is blendable yet moisturizing. My skin leans more normal/dry, so this was lightweight yet moisturizing enough to use in place of a traditional moisturizer. Although the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Suncreen SPF 30 is an all-physical sunscreen, the texture and consistency resemble the consistency of a chemical-based sunscreen. If you have drier skin and need a boost of hydration or moisture, you can use this sunscreen on top of your favorite moisturizer.

I used the two-finger rule coined by Tiara Willis to cover my whole face and neck. I massaged the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Suncreen SPF 30 ($42) into my skin for around 30 seconds to get the formula to blend into my complexion. The sunscreen settles into your skin completely after a few minutes. Although the sunscreen comes out opaque white, it leaves a subtle transparent glow or sheen and no white cast at all. I was shocked; it truly does not feel like I have anything on my skin.

Overall, the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum Suncreen SPF 30 ($42)is a fantastic mineral-based sunscreen that does not pill and works well underneath makeup. I recommend this to everyone. If chemical-based sunscreens irritate your skin or make your eyes sting, this sunscreen is a must-have. It is on the pricier end of the spectrum for sunscreens. However, if you have reactive skin as I do, you could use this on days where your skin is irritated or inflamed. It's an amazing mineral-based sunscreen that is worth every penny!
