Whether the pc problem is hardware, software, internet broadband connection, wireless network setup, generally slow computer, pc virus removal, windows software repair or other nameless computer frustrations, we can fix it and help you love your computer again.

 We come to you so you don't have to worry about unplugging the spaghetti monster at the back of your pc, lugging the computer by car into a shop and then having to lug it back again a week later only to have to plug it all back in again yourself. Most repairs, upgrades and maintenance work is carried out quickly and efficiently in your own home or your premises. In the event that we do have to take your pc away to the workshop we will of course bring it back to you, at your convenience, with no collection or delivery charges.

Who are Sheepses PC and why a Computer Repair Woman?

SheepsesPC is a small local family business. We have a female technician, Sue Jordan. Many clients have told us that this was a deciding factor in choosing SheepsesPC, and simply feel more comfortable inviting a woman into their homes. We specialise in setting up laptops and desktops to address both teenagers desire for online freedom, and parents legitimate safety and security  concerns. We offer repair, maintenance and upgrade services also. SheepsesPC is a Microsoft™ registered partner.

What areas do you cover?

The City of Edinburgh area of Lothian / Midlothian. We are a local business based in Trinity. We cover all EH postcodes and are based in EH6.

 

Can I receive pc support over the phone or by email?

Yes,  we are happy to offer some basic pointers and advice. We believe that follow up care should be part of our service and we hope to be your first choice if you ever need us again. We know that our personal friendly service and attention to detail is what sets us apart from large faceless national repair companies.

I’m at work during the day, does it cost me more for evening or weekend computer services?

No, we don’t feel you should be penalised for having a job. Generally we don’t book any service calls later than 8pm on weekdays or 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Give us a call (10am to 8pm) and we will do our best to accommodate you.

 

How long will it take to fix my computer?

That's a tricky one as different problems can take a different amount of time to resolve, but we aim to work out what the problem is asap. If we cannot resolve the problem on-the-spot we will give you an action plan which will include a timescale on the fix. Be assured we don’t charge you by our time but by results (no fix— no fee).

Do you fix laptop computers?

Yes, we diagnose and untangle all software and Windows© related problems with laptop computers (programs not running, internet failure, wireless network nightmares and the most common problem of “It’s behaving Oddly”). We also carry out standard upgrade installations (memory, hard drive and external devices).  If there is any life at all in your laptop, even if it’s only the tiniest flicker of text, don’t worry it’s repairable. If your laptop appears completely dead, when you press the power button and absolutely nothing happens and refuses to start completely then it’s probably a motherboard failure. We are happy to visit you and advise you if a repair is cost effective or not. If it is a motherboard failure we will charge you nothing for the visit and point you in the right direction.

Do I have to bring my computer / laptop / pc to you?

No, we offer mobile and/or remote support. We realise that its a pain to find the time to unplug all of your equipment and transport it somewhere else. Wherever possible we aim to fix the problem on-site without having to remove your equipment.

 

 

Do I need to know what is wrong with my computer to get it sorted out?

 Absolutely not. One of the most common computer complaints we hear is “Its Behaving Oddly”. We visit you, check out your computer, diagnose the difficulty and give you an estimate. We charge you nothing to visit and diagnose the problem. Do you repair printers?

We carry out software related repairs to printers - driver and/or installation problems, however, we do not repair printer hardware failures.

 

Do you repair monitors?

Unfortunately, we do not carry out repairs to monitors. For monitor hardware failures, we recommend you to contact the manufacturer or perhaps consult a television repair specialist.

 

SheepsesPC?

There is a story behind the name; suffice to say it arose from a family discussion on the collective plural of sheep and the 1968 novel by Philip K. Dick titled “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”  from which the open source screen saver Electric Sheep evolved.
